Adopt-A-Family

Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh (WC&S) is excited to launch the 2022 Adopt-a-Family program, our annual holiday gift card drive that gives WC&S clients the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts for their children. Last year, donors provided a more joyful holiday season to more than 1,000 survivors of domestic violence and their children. That’s more clients served through the program than ever before! As our programs and services keep expanding, so too does the need for help during the holidays.

Now more than ever, we need your help to make the holidays brighter for a family affected by domestic violence. WC&S serves more than 7,700 survivors and their children annually and almost all of them have been subjected to financial abuse. With the holidays fast approaching, they need your help.

Why gift cards? It may seem impersonal, but your donation of Target, Wal-Mart, or Visa gift cards is deeply meaningful to the hundreds of mothers who have been made to feel powerless by their abusers. When you give them the chance to shop and select the perfect gift for their own child, you are helping them regain their sense of control and freedom.
