For many years, Peoples and its employees have given survivors of domestic violence peace of mind with an annual holiday gift drive to benefit the clients of Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, collecting physical gifts isn’t possible this year. But Peoples and WC&S are teaming up to continue the tradition by giving Peoples employees two ways to support survivors and their children through the holiday months:
Provide holiday gifts for a family in need.
Imagine: You and your children are spending the holidays in a domestic violence shelter where you have arrived with only the clothes on your backs. Or perhaps you are now living in safety but you’re working reduced hours at your job because of the COVID-19 pandemic and you’re barely making ends meet. How will you give your kids a happy holiday?
With the support of incredible donors like you, Women’s Center & Shelter’s Adopt-a-Family program has been creating happier holidays for ten years. Every dollar you donate to The Peoples Adopt-a-Family fund will go towards gift cards our clients can use to purchase gifts, food, or essentials and make this holiday season as normal and joyful as possible for survivors of intimate partner violence.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created unexpected challenges for survivors and raised new barriers for those seeking help. Your donation ensures that WC&S can continue to meet these challenges and provide every survivor with the programs and services they depend on for their physical and emotional safety.
