Assess your safety and risk

For almost 10 years, Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh has had the honor and responsibility of maintaining the RUSafe app, along with app creators, Aspirant. Originally developed based upon Dr. Jacquelyn Campbell’s Danger Assessment, the RUSafe app was created to allow users to take a similar questionnaire to assess their safety and access available resources.

At WC&S, we understand the importance of such resources for domestic violence victims and survivors, as well as their friends, family, and colleagues. Therefore, we’re excited to announce that we will be transitioning from RUSafe to present the Bright Sky app in the U.S. in partnership with the Vodafone Americas Foundation.   

Bright Sky is an app and website born out of a global effort to provide education and resources to domestic violence victims and survivors, as well as their friends, family, or colleagues (with RUSafe serving as the foundation). Included in the app is a questionnaire that assists users in gauging the safety of their, or another person’s, relationship. There are also educational components to familiarize users with different types of abuse, available support options around the U.S., online safety, consent, safely leaving an abusive relationship, and much more.   

It is our hope that the transition of RUSafe into Bright Sky will continue to encourage victims and survivors, as well as their friends, family, or colleagues, to seek resources and education on the issue of domestic violence while connecting our community to a larger, global network.
