Homeless Providers Program
In the Homeless Providers program, WC&S offers training, support, and other assistance regarding domestic violence (DV) to the staff and clients of homeless shelters and other providers for those experiencing homelessness in Allegheny County.
WC&S works with the staff of homeless shelters and other providers to understand what DV is, how to recognize it, and how to help clients and their families find safety. Homeless shelter staff learn through direct service and training, one-on-one consultation, and coaching to enhance their ability to work with those experiencing DV. Our trained DV advocates also provide direct care and advocacy for the clients of these providers when needed.
A homeless shelter or organization that would like to learn more about the Homeless Providers Program can contact Matthew at matthewg@wcspittsburgh.org for more details.
Any person experiencing homelessness and domestic violence can contact our Hotline to speak to our trained advocates.
