Workplace Resources – STANDING FIRM
STANDING FIRM is a membership organization of employers who recognize and respond to the human costs of partner violence in the workplace and workforce. We offer a suite of employer services to address policy and practice questions, deliver employee and manager education, and offer tools for taking effective organizational action to address the impact of domestic violence.

Employers play a vital role in safeguarding the workplace against violence stemming from domestic abuse. Nearly 30% of workplace violence incidents originate from a domestic violence situation, and one in three employees report having experienced Domestic Violence or Intimate Partner Violence (DV/IPV). 53% of survivors have reported losing at least one job due to domestic violence. Lost wages due to job loss make a survivor vulnerable and may force them to stay in or return to the harmful relationship.
How can an employer help? By addressing partner violence as a workforce issue, employers can enhance productivity and promote the health, safety, and financial well-being of all their employees. STANDING FIRM, a program of WC&S, helps employers understand the financial, safety, and human costs of partner violence on the workplace and workforce and equips them with tools for taking effective organizational action. Employers working with STANDING FIRM report high satisfaction with the resources and strategies available to support employees and reduce risk in the workplace.
