Why Join WC&S
Our Mission is to strengthen our ability to meet the individual and evolving needs of those affected by domestic violence by investing in the growth of our people, deepening community engagement, and amplifying the voices of all survivors. As a team, we strive to live out our mission, vision, and values each day.
As a WC&S staff member, you join one of the very first six domestic violence shelters founded in the United States. WC&S has continued to be a regional leader in the anti-violence movement for nearly 50 years, supporting over 7,500 survivors of intimate partner violence and their children each year.
We are a team of nearly 100 dedicated professionals committed to strengthening our collective ability to meet the individual and evolving needs of those affected by domestic violence.
WC&S offers a supportive workplace environment committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, work-life balance, professional and personal safety, development, and engagement.
In 2022, WC&S Staff was honored with the Sherley & Ted Craig Humanitarian Award, recognizing their dedication and passionate work supporting survivors during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
The most satisfying thing about working at WC&S is being able to help people. I feel like every day I’m on a mission – not always a good or sweet story. I have this support system that I know no matter what happens with my clients, my team will support and understand me.
I’ve never worked anywhere before where people are treated so nicely, validated, and it feels like everyone’s ideas and jobs are valued by the leadership team.
